I don't know how many of you have ever heard of Chiggers?! They are little bugs that live in the grass (In a lot of south eastern states) that bite you and borrow under your skin...they each like crazy (or so I hear) and hurt really really bad....at least they hurt when they look like this...
Notice the how the one is all pussy, and then notice the two on the far sides... It's the best picture I could get of them my flash was being all weird...
Needless to say these pictures come NOTHING close to doing these bites justice and these are just the bites by his ankles. Eli is covered in 40+ bites from these things (at least that's what we think they are from he has had chigger bites before but never this bad) The rest of these bites are in the same area that would be covered by his garment bottoms from the knees up. And I just want to let you know the ones in that area are about 2-3x's bigger than the ones in this picture. The poor guy is miserable! Sadie and I have been fortunate enough not to have a problem with them...yet... So

we've been lucky so far, no cases of chiggers. we definitely use bug spray when were out camping or in the brush. you better take stock in bug spray. Texas has a lot of bugs and huge mosquitoes. Beware of the ants. they are almost worse than chiggers. They bite and swell up and itch. Not fun.
We should meet up in Austin or San Antonio. That would be fun.
