Ropin'

So many of you know and many of you don't know that my Eli is a cowboy! And he Looooves to rope. He did highschool rodeo and then after his mission went to Fort Scott Kansas Community College on a rodeo scholarship for 1 year. He also spent time at many rodeos while we dated. Unfortunately rodeo is an expensive hobby and while going to school and working the last 4 1/2 years we haven't had the money, the place to keep horses, or the time for him to enjoy his hobby. Well since we've moved to Texas and are no longer doing school we were able to find someone who is willing to board a couple of our horses for us and spend time helping Eli rope. He has had so much fun and been so much happier now that he's back doing what he loves. Not only does he get to practice every night but we've even got to hit a few small calf roping competitions and jackpots. Here are pictures from last night.
This is on the drive there. Lately Sadie gets mad if I hold Eli's hand...she wants him to hold hers, so he does spend a bit of his time driving like this. When it comes to her Daddy she has to have ALL of his attention!
Sadie loves horses just like her Daddy and he is always so great to make sure she gets her turn to ride with him. She would stay on all day if she could. It's so cute watching them ride together...you don't see many of the other guys taking their kids for a ride around the arena before, after, or during the competition.

Sorry I know there blurry (I really want a knew camera)
Proud Sadie watchin' her Daddy! She even cheers for him (Soooo Cute)
She must have done a good job with the cheering because he won the 3rd go round and the average (which it the best time on all 3 calves added together) YEAH ELI!

woo woo, that's the Eli I remember! He's adorable with Sadie. I love the hand holding in the car. Mary used to do that too. There's just something about Daddy's and their little girls. (We also have a zoo here, just in case you decide to come down sometime :)
