We were so lucky this year that Eli just happened to get a 4 day weekend over the 4th so we could go on a fun little vacation to Missourri to see his Grandparents! We live closest to them of everyone in the family but it's still a 10 hour drive so we don't make it near as often as we would like.
Sadie was so super excited because grandpa has 2 ponds on his land and she got to go fishing! To be honest Eli did most the fishing but she took her turn a few times. We didn't have any luck in the big pond the smaller pond was a much bigger hit!
Sadie making a fish face
Ben running around playing
This was the big 3.5 pounder that they caught.
This one was much smaller maybe only 1.5 pounds. We didn't keep either Sadie wanted them to live so we put them back in the water. Which I think Eli and I both preffered. I don't think either of us wanted to do the cleaning so we could actually cook them.
Ben enjoying his corn on the cob.
(Sadie too, she loves the stuff, see her eyeing it in the back ground...)
This is when we went out to do fireworks. It's during the first one Eli lit. Maybe we picked one that was a little too loud to start off. This was there reaction...
Sadie did finally calm down after a bit, Ben however had to be on someones lap the rest the time and at one point insisted on watching them from in the house while looking out the screen door. (Picture to follow)
The Kids with Grandpa and Grandma great
Keep in mind fireworks are going off this whole time and look at Bens face. So somber...even when we finally get him to hold a sparkler later haha
Can you see how curly his hair is in these pictures? It was seriously so so curly while we were there. I mean he kinda always has a little wave but it must have been the humidity there cuz it was wild! I loved it and thought it was so adorable! It would be fun if it was always like that :)
We love these two so much! Wish we got to see them more, and we are going to try to do better to get up there a little more often!
Sadly I didn't get a picture of the kids with Alice- their dog. They followed her around and mawled her the entire time we were there! So funny! And Ben has been going to our screen door all week opening it and yelling "Al-i, Al-i" He is always kinda sad when I remind him Alice doesn't live here at our house, she is at Grandma and Grandpas.
