Sick little Man

So Ben had a pretty nasty cold but one day he woke up and was like totally weezing. I'll be honest I really didn't want to take him to the Dr. because they always say the same thing. It's just a virus turn on the humidifier and he'll be fine. But just after lunch Eli finally convinced me I should just go, it's better safe then sorry. And I'm glad we did because by the time we got there I thought he seemed way worse! Well the Dr. said that he had croup. Then I just felt awful. She ended up giving him a breathing treatment right away and then wanted to keep him under observation for a couple hours just to make sure they didn't need to keep him over night. So we were in the Dr. office at least a good 3 hours if not longer. She also gave him some steroids to help the swelling of his vocal chords go down. Since he was able to drink a popscicle she decided to let us go home. She thought he would do a lot worse at night but he actually did surprisingly well and slept pretty good. I just had to keep giving him IBprofin to keep his fever down and Albutoral to help him breath. The Dr. was amazing and told us to call her anytime day or night and we did end up calling her the next evening around 8:00 and she told us rather than go to the ER to dbl his inhalor treatments and come in to see her the next morning if we needed too. She even called me the next morning to check on him. We did end up taking him in and by that time he had double ear infections and had to have a shot of antibiotics to help it go down but his breathing and vocal chords were much better. He did have to go in the next morning for one more shot of antibiotics and is still taking some oral ones for his ears but he is doing so so much better and is running around like my happy little Benjamin again!

For those of you who don't know Ben it is a huge ordeal to get him to nap most days let alone snuggle. But that is all he wanted to do for 4 or 5 days. He still wants me to hold and love him all the time.
Here he is asleep on the Dr.'s table the first day we took him in.

Laying down by me on the kitchen floor while I was trying to fix dinner for the rest of the family.
Being a little snuggle bug.

It was so scary being in the Dr. office hearing we might have to stay over night in the hospital and seeing him feeling and looking so horrible. We have really been so blessed to have such healthy, happy little kids and having him in there under observation just makes you realize how fragile and priceless they really are! I am so thankful that we had such a wonderful Dr. to work with and that he is recovering so well. We are so blessed!
