Fort Worth

While we had family here to help with the kids Eli and I jumped on our first oppertunity in 6 YEARS for a night away! Other than being at the hospital for Ben and Briggs births we had never gone anywhere without all the kids besides a quick date night out to dinner. So since it was coming up on our 8th anniversary we decided to take a fun weekend trip to Fort Worth. To see the stockyards, cowboy hall of fame, etc...
It was so fun to just spend time together and it was totally in Eli's element he loved it!
This is a picture of the old bunkhouse/breakroom the workers would rest up in on their breaks.

Me on an actual Texas Longhorn
Watching the dailey "Stampede" through the stockyard station. We had to laugh that they considered their15-20 head of Longhorn a stampede. But it was still fun to see.
We decided we have very long arms. Actually we already knew we did but we found out a longhorns horns can be up to 6 feet long. Eli's arms are longer than that and mine are pretty darn close!
I think this is wear they used to drive the cattle through and then underground to the meat packing plants.

Fort Worth Colisium. Eli would like to go to a roping here sometime!
The Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame is actually Located in the basement part of the Colisium. Here is Logan Adams plaque that is down there. Logan is a great guy and we board our horse Blacky at his house. Eli and Logan have become really good friends and Benjamin thinks he is just wonderful! He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2011.
We also went to the Amon Carter Art Museum while we were there and I never really thought I would enjoy walking through and art museum that much but it was actually pretty awesome and we spent quite a while there. We would love to take the kids up to Fort Worth sometime we kept thinking about how much Benjamin would have loved seeing all of the Cattle and Cowboys!
On our way home we stopped at Teskeys Saddle Shop and had a great time looking around. Then head to the Heart of Texas Fair in Waco for the Rodeo before we headed home!
