Many of you may remember hearing about our last family vacation to Missouri to see Eli’s Grandparents. I was about 4 ½ -5 months along with Sadie. We flew out for a few days to visit and planned on driving and old ford farm truck that his Grandma and Grandpa had given us back to Idaho. We made it there and had a great stay, however the night before we started back my tooth was hurting just a little bit…no big deal right? So we wake up and take off early and drive a good 9 hours… my tooth is killing me, no big deal we’ll be home in by morning. The truck suddenly slows down… WAY down and we can’t get it to go over 30 MPH. We must be over heating it so we stop early for the night. At some disgusting little Podunk town with nothing but a Wendy’s and a gas station (at least I like Wendy’s so I can’t complain about that.) I’m crying because my tooth hurts so bad and since I’m pregnant I can only take Tylenol. I lay in bed all night waiting for morning to come so we can just get home! (Just a side note…I remember this being the first night Eli was able to feel Sadie move inside of me! Best part of the trip:) The next morning the truck still won’t go anywhere we’re stuck between 23 and 30 MPH. What would normally be the 2 hour trip from Lemon to Cheyenne takes about 6. I’m still crying because of my tooth. We stop in Cheyenne and call around. It’s Sunday… we finally find mechanic who’s open and a Dentist’s who is willing to take an emergency patient he has never seen before. We go and I get my tooth PULLED! The Trucks fuel pump is out along with who knows what else is wrong with it. We can’t afford to have it fixed at the time and don’t figure it will last more than a few years anyway so we leave it in Cheyenne rent a car and head home! What a Trip! Now if you aren't totally sick of reading. Read on for our current trip to Missouri!
Beautiful little Lexi at the Hospital!
Sadie and Mckenzie had fun playing underneath the hospital crib!
Sick girls!
Finally feeling better Sadie, Mom, and Dad, build a sweet tower of blocks! And Sadie runs around in her outfit from Grandma Bee she brought it to me out of my suitcase and refused to leave me a lone until she was wearing every piece!
We once again wanted to go visit his Grandparent's in Missouri. And my sister in-law Jessi just had a baby on Nov 16. So we decided to stop at their home in Nebraska since it's about the half way mark. We wanted to visit a couple days and then get on our way to G+G D's (Grandma and Grandpa Davidsons) Well Sunday night Lexi was up all night with a fever they took her in Monday and spent the whole day in the hospital doing test....I'll try to summarize. She spent the next 4 days and 3 nights in the hospital waiting for test results. I was able to stay there with her and Jessi so Eli and Tyrell could watch Sadie and Mac at home. the 2nd day she was in the hospital Sadie and Mckenzie we're throwing up and having diarreah. Already behind on our trip to Missouri we thought we had better wait so as not to get G+G D sick! We decided to head out Friday morning and Eli woke up at 3:30 a.m. sick, and Mckenzie started throwing up all over again probably about 10-12 times. It's Sunday Sadie is still pooping everywhere and now Jessi is sick! Tyrell and I are just waiting to be next. So we are no longer heading for Missouri this trip we have quarantined ourselves. Sweet little Lexi was diagnosed with a viral infection (which they believe is the same thing the rest of us have) and a UTI... She is now doing GREAT! All in all I'm kind of scared to ever plan another trip to Missouri, but what a great blessing that we were able to be here when all of this happened so when Tyrell was at the hospital during the days we could help with Mckenzie! I know I wouldn't have wanted to do it alone. We really didn't do a lot but I hope we were able to help a little. Anyway... that's our family vacation!
