Since Abbey Jane came down for Easter and Dad and Mom were so close, the next morning we got up early and headed down to Beaumont TX to see them on their mission. Somehow Dad, Mom and Abbey aren't in any of these pictures. (They're sneaky like that I guess)
We really wanted to drive down to the coast one day while we were there. This was the first trip my kids have taken to an ocean. They thought it was amazing! But it was also freezing outside (I think it was their record low for that month in over 40 years or something crazy like that) So we only stayed out of the car for about 10-15 minutes before we got back in and moved on to something new. The kids did find a huge awesome Jelly Fish washed up on the shore and still talk about it to this day. That was probably the highlight of the beach. We also went to a museum but I really can't remember which one. I think it was in Port Arthur it was pretty fun to visit and had a lot of neat things in it. Then we drove around and looked at a lot of things in the area just so we could see where Mom and Dad were serving. We drove by somewhere that we could jump out and walk out by one of the bays and watch some of the huge ships go by, and Dad was even nice enough to drive us over the Louisiana border just so we could say we had been to Louisiana.
We drove over this HUGE bridge on the way to the coast. This picture does it no justice at all. It was ginormous! We also passed a lot of the oil refineries and factories on our drive as well.
We collected some really fun sea shells. One of which I still have sitting on the window seal in my kitchen.
See the Jelly Fish? It was a big one for sure!
Sadie and Ben at the Museum by an old ship anchor.
Also while we were there we got to drive by the meeting house in the area, which Mom and Dad said used to be a bank. And we got to go to the institute building and listen to Dad teach a class. Well actually Abbey got to listen I stayed in the room by the kitchen while the kids played ping pong and ran around like crazies. They thought it was so neat to see where Grandma and Grandpa got to work on their mission.
I just had to put up these last couple pictures because the morning I dropped Abbey off at the airport I came home to this.
Ben Hiding behind the chair painting his nails with Sadie's nail polish. He said he had to hide because he didn't want to get in trouble. Crazy little boy painting his nails at 7:00 in the morning! I was pretty impressed he put a magazine under him though. What a cute little guy he is!!
